FRIEDRICH-ALEXANDER-UNIVERSITAT ERLANGEN-NURNBERG
The Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg was founded in 1743, and it is the second-largest university in Bavaria, with almost 40.000 students. Reuters ranked FAU as the 2nd most innovative university in Europe and 1st in Germany.
IT security and cryptography are one of the key areas in the field of computer science. The German Research Foundation supports this area with a dedicated Research Training Group (GTG) in the area of cybercrime, which is an interdisciplinary center between IT Security, Cryptography, and Law. The results of our research are constantly published at the leading venues in IT Security, such as ACM CCS, USENIX Security, and CRYPTO.
Role in the project
FAUs’ contributions to the project lie in the fields of MPC and verifiable computing. Additionally, we bring our knowledge and experience in privacy for blockchain technologies, cryptographic protocols, and formal (provable) security analysis.
We aim to enhance the security and privacy of blockchain technologies for 6G by applying advanced cryptographic techniques. We will also contribute to the analysis of post-quantum secure cryptographic protocols.
