CONFIDENTIAL6G at 6G Global Summit 2023

Madhusanka Liyanage, an expert consultant from University College Dublin, participated in the 6G Global Summit 2023 as part of the CONFIDENTIAL6G project. The summit, held on 3rd and 4th May 2023 in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, offered both in-person and virtual attendance options.

The 6G Global Summit provided a platform for industry leaders and policymakers to explore the path to 2030 and discuss emerging 6G technologies, applications, and use cases. The focus on sustainability also opened the door to address critical global challenges through the 6G ecosystem.

Madhusanka Liyanage was a panelist in Session 4: “Securing the Future: Cyber Security in the 6G Era.” This session analyzed potential cybersecurity challenges and ongoing research efforts to address them effectively. Additionally, he had the opportunity to introduce CONFIDENTIAL6G and the work that has been done by UCD (University College Dublin), mostly in the research and development related to the blockchain and federated learning domain. This introduction was made to a diverse audience, including the scientific community, the general public, policymakers, and media representatives.

The 6G Global Summit 2023 facilitated valuable discussions to drive 6G technology forward, paving the way for a more connected and secure future.
