Madhusanka Liyanage Delivers Keynote on Blockchain for 5G and Beyond Networks

Madhusanka Liyanage from University College Dublin (UCD), a partner in the CONFIDENTIAL6G (C6G) project, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Blockchain for 5G and Beyond Networks” at an international event held in Sri Lanka on 23–24 February 2023.

The keynote addressed the role of blockchain technologies in supporting future mobile networks, with a focus on security, trust, and decentralised approaches for 5G and beyond systems. The presentation highlighted current research directions and practical considerations relevant to next-generation network architectures.

Through this keynote contribution, CONFIDENTIAL6G research and expertise were presented to an international audience, supporting the project’s dissemination activities and increasing its visibility beyond Europe. The event also provided an opportunity for engagement with researchers and professionals working on advanced networking and blockchain-enabled systems.

This activity contributed to the objectives of Work Package 2 (WP2), which focuses on core technical aspects of the project.
